Find your footing in Snake

Try Snake at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Keep collecting apples. Hitting a wall or your body ends the round; filling the entire board wins. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Identify the playing area and the controls you need. Look at what changes after your first action.

Try a more deliberate round

When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round. Make the next step deliberately.

What the game asks you to do

Keep collecting apples. Hitting a wall or your body ends the round; filling the entire board wins. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Follow this game’s rules rather than another version’s.

Making your moves

  1. Press Play to start the movement.
  2. Turn with arrow keys, swipes or the on-screen direction buttons.
  3. Each apple adds ten points and makes the snake longer.
  4. Pause when needed or start a new round.

Your inputs

Keyboard arrows, swipe gestures or the four direction buttons. Play / pause controls the movement. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Return to the rules if the result is unexpected.

An example before you play

When moving right, you may turn up or down, but cannot turn immediately left into your own neck. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Choose a deliberate next step.

An important reminder

The snake continues moving between inputs. Plan a route with space to turn. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again.
